Royal Caribbean’s Health and Safety Protocols

Health and safety protocols are constantly evolving and vary be port of departure. If you have questions about a specific cruise, please contact your travel advisor to learn more about what Royal Caribbean is doing to ensure your safety.

All Guests, All Aboard

It’s now easier for more guests to sail with Royal Caribbean.

Unvaccinated travelers can join us for almost all sailings*

Vaccination is longer required to sail, with only a few exceptions.

Testing protocols are easier

  • Vaccinated guests won’t have to take a pre-cruise test on cruises that are shorter than 10 nights.
  • Unvaccinated guests age 5 and up will need to test within 3 days before boarding, regardless of cruise length.
  • We will begin accepting results from self-administered home tests.

Requirements in other regions

Currently published testing and vaccination requirements remain in place for cruises from Australia and Singapore; cruises that visit Bermuda; and transatlantic or transpacific sailings, until further notice.

Healthy Ships, Happy Guests

Learn more about the ways Royal Caribbean keeps their ships sparkling clean and healthy, from sanitized surfaces to air filtration to their newly upgraded medical center.

Medical Grade Cleaning Standards

Royal Caribbean takes great pride in keeping thier ships sparkling clean. Their evolved sanitization protocols use EPA-certified disinfectants and techniques like electrostatic fogging to clean frequently and consistently. Plus they’ve reduced the need to touch surfaces wherever possible.

100% Fresh, Filtered Air

There’s nothing like the fresh air of the open ocean, wherever you are on board. On Royal Caribbean® ships, their HVAC system continuously supplies 100% fresh, filtered air from outdoors to all indoor spaces. You can breathe easy knowing that, thanks to this robust system, the transmission of aerosol particles between spaces (like those from a cough) is extremely low to virtually impossible — as validated in an independent assessment conducted by the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the National Strategic Research Institute on board a Royal Caribbean ship.

Upgraded Medical Facilities & Expert Care

There’s nothing more important than your health and safety. That’s why Royal Caribbean has made their high-quality onboard medical care stronger than ever, with more doctors and nurses on each ship and state-of-the-art equipment enhancements. And in the event of a suspected case of COVID-19, they’re fully prepared with sound care plans, including rapid testing onboard.
